Doing Business in Vermont

Vermont is a special place to start or expand a business. Vermont is the home of many high technology companies like IBM and specialty food businesses like Ben and Jerry's Homemade. In addition to these nationally known companies, Vermont is the home of many thriving, innovative small businesses. In fact, over 95% of businesses in Vermont employ fewer than 50 employees. Vermont also offers a unique quality of life for employers and employees because it is one of the safest and cleanest states in the United States.
Vermont US Senator, Patrick Leahy

In addition, Vermont is the most gay-friendly state in the country. On July 1, 2000, Vermont became the first state to legally recognize civil marriage for same sex couples.

The Vermont Gay Tourism Association was incorporated in April 2003. Its purpose is to promote Vermont to the Gay & Lesbian Traveler. Businesses interested in promoting Vermont to the Gay & Lesbian Traveler should join the Association.
